Description:
Bulbous perennial. Leaves broad, spreading and flat, up to 100 × 20 cm; margin finely hairy. Flowers in many-flowered umbels (up to 50), flared, white with deep pink ribs. Fruit up to 7 cm in diameter, pinkish-red, not beaked.
Notes: Though other species of Crinum may have the pink stripes on the ribs, they are normally less bright and distinct as in as in this species.
Derivation of specific name: stuhlmannii: after Franz Ernest Stuhlmann, one time Acting Governor of Tanganyika and plant collector
delagoense: of Delagoa Bay in South Africa
Habitat: In grassland and deciduous woodland, usually on sandy soils.
Altitude range: 10 - 1400 m
Flowering time:Oct - Nov
Worldwide distribution: Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
