Description: |
See var. hazeliana for general details. This variety is distinguished by its very different growth habit. It is a pendent plant of shaded rock faces. The inflorescence is curving upwards with the raceme erect. |
Notes: | The two varieties are known to cross readily. A few disjunct subpopulations known in the wild. Threatened by collectors. |
Derivation of specific name: | hazeliana: named after Hazel O. Munch (née Elske), 1912 - 2001, the wife of Raymond Charles Munch; howmannii: after Roger Howman, who was Native Commissioner at Ndanga and Zaka until 1939 and later at Chimanimani. |
