Description: |
Perennial herb, 80-150 cm high, growing from a short, thick, vertical rhizome with spongy roots. Leaves numerous in an ascending basal rosette, linear-lanceolate, 25-52 cm long, hairless, usually half-folded with very wavy margins. Inflorescence laxly branched, far extended above the leaves. Pedicels articulated above the middle, lower ones 2-6 per node, up to 25 mm long in fruit. Perianth urn-shaped; tepals half spreading, 3-veined with scabrid margins. Stamens shorter than perianth; filaments papillate-ridged, longer than anthers. Capsule 11-15 mm long, obovoid,3-angled and sharply lobed, smooth. |
Notes: | See Chlorophytum andongense for comparison. That species differs in the much smaller, shallowly deltoid fruit and broader, lanceolate leaves without wavy margins. |
