Description: |
Perennial herb, stems up to 50 cm long, procumbent to sub-erect, growing from a swollen, often u-shaped rhizome with long slender roots. Leaves mostly basal with long hairs beneath; sheaths purplish. Flowers in up to 6 pseudo-axillary clusters, borne in fleshy leaf-like bracts; tepals pink, mauve or blue; stamens embedded in dense blue hairs. |
