Annual up to 60 cm tall, slender, erect or geniculately ascending; leaf laminas 1–4 cm × 2–5 mm, lanceolate.Inflorescence 2–10 cm long, well exserted from the uppermost leaf sheath, the spikelets densely packed and appressed to the rhachis.Spikelets 2–2.4 mm long with a stipitiform callus 0.3–0.7 mm long; glumes minutely hispidulous, with a slender, often pallid, erect awn, that of the inferior glume 20–35 mm long, that of the superior 11–17 mm long.Caryopsis terete. |
