Description:	Perennial herb with erect or decumbent annual stems up to 25 cm, growing from a woody rootstock. Stems covered in long hairs. Leaves very narrowly oblong-elliptic, up to 20 mm long, laxly covered in long hairs. Flowers purple or purple and yellowish-green in congested or sub-capitate terminal racemes. Capsule c. 2.1 mm in diameter, almost round, hairless, slightly winged.

Derivation of specific name:	wilmsii: named after Dr. Friedrich Heinrich Wilms (1848-1919), German apothecary, botanist and plant collector in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.
Habitat:	In submontane grassland.
