Description of the genus
Trees. Leaves crowded near the ends of the branches in close spirals, with numerous opposite leaflets. Inflorescences axillary, consisting of paniculate cymes, borne near the ends of the branches. Calyx-lobes 4, free almost to the base; Petals 4. Fruit dry, 4-angled, 4-locular. Worldwide: 5 species in tropical and South Africa. Mozambique: 1 taxon. |
