Description of the genus

Herbs, subshrubs or shrubs. Leaves 3-5-foliolate; leaflets covered with gland dots beneath. Stipules and stipels present. Inflorescences axillary or terminal. Bracteoles present at the base of the calyx, caducous. Calyx 5-lobed. Standard white, mauve or crimson-purple. Ovary 2-ovuled. Pods oblong-falcate, flattened, much narrowed towards the base.

Worldwide: 15 species in tropical Africa

Mozambique: 3 taxa.
