Description of the genus

Deciduous tree; slash producing blood-red resinous exudate. Stipules present, caducous; stipels almost always 0. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets varying from opposite, subopposite to alternate. Flowers in terminal panicles. Calyx broadly campanulate with 5 very short lobes. Upper stamen free. Wing petals free from keel. Fruit flattened, indehiscent, linear-oblong with thin narrow wings on either side. Seeds ± oblong-reniform.

Worldwide: 1 species in tropical and South Africa

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
