Description of the genus

Perennial herbs, dying back each year, with corms. Foliage leaves plane. Inflorescence a secund spike. Flowers zygomorphic, pink to purple; tepals united into a long perianth tube. Style branches filiform throughout. Fruit a capsule. Seeds spherical to angular.

Worldwide: 1-2 species in southern tropical and South Africa

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
