Herbs or weak subshrubs, erect or ± trailing. Stems covered with long white hairs. Leaves 1-foliolate or pinnately 3-foliolate; stipules and usually stipels present. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, racemose or condensed and paniculate; bracts mostly persistent. Calyx 5-lobed, the upper pair ± joined; corolla small, scarcely exceeding the calyx; standard obovate-oblong, hairy. Ovary 2-ovuled, velvety. Fruit pod, oblong-ovoid, compressed, densely villous. Seeds oblong; hilum small and central; funicle dilated at the apex. Worldwide: Five species in tropical Africa. Mozambique: 1 taxon. |
