Leaves chartaceous, pubescent or glabrous, mature at time of flowering. Stipules triangular-apiculate, caducous. Inflorescences terminal on short leafy lateral branches and occasionally on the main branches, often congested; flowers sessile and subtended by opposite bracts, or shortly pedicellate. Calyx limb-tube bearing triangular to sublinear lobes. Corolla salver-shaped; tube densely covered with appressed hairs outside, pubescent within. Fruit 2-locular. Seeds 2–4 per fruit, reddish-brown, with a shallow elongated hilar groove, smooth. Worldwide: Five species centred on Madagascar. Mozambique: 1 taxon. |
