Description of the genus

Shrubs or climbers. Leaves alternate, petiolate; lamina entire or serrate. Capitula in ± dense corymbose or subspherical terminal cymes, heterogamous, radiate; ray florets female, 3-4-seriate; disk florets bisexual. Rays white. Achenes narrowly turbinate, slightly 4-ribbed, ± flattened, pubescent. Pappus 1-seriate, of numerous very slender subequal minutely barbellate setae.

Worldwide: 10 species, occurring in Africa, Madagascar and Mascarenes.

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
