Description of the genus

Perennial herbs; rootstock tuberous. Leaves sessile, linear. Flowers in dense, spherical pedunculate umbels. Corolla 5-lobed; lobes ± erect. Corona 5-lobed; lobes spathulate, erect, with a transverse ridge or flap. Follicles narrowly fusiform.

Worldwide: 4 species in southern Africa

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
