Description:	Shrub, to 4 m. Leaves variable, from narrowly ovate to almost circular; entire, toothed or palmately lobed. Flowers solitary or in groups of 2-3 in the leaf axils, semi-pendulous; red, the petals remaining forward-pointing and not opening outwards.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name:	penduliflorus: with semi-pendulous flowers (they do not hang vertically, they point downwards at various angles).
