Description of the genus

Shrubs or small trees. Leaves simple, small, soon deciduous. Inflorescence a raceme; corolla much larger than calyx; flowers white or yellow. Fruit a pod, indehiscent.

Worldwide: 4 species native to the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Canary Islands.

Mozambique: 1 cultivated taxon.
